Experience history with all senses

Museum Aargau is one of the largest museums in Switzerland. At the various historical sites, an international audience experiences history with all senses. The original sites encompass the castles of Lenzburg, Wildegg, Hallwyl and Habsburg, the Vindonissa Roman camp (Legionary Trail and Vindonissa Museum), the Königsfelden Monastery and the Wettingen monastery peninsula as well as the Aabach IndustriekulTOUR.

The tenth location ist the Egliswil collection centre, which functions as the historical repository of both the Museum and the Canton Aargau. A substantial part of the Museum Aargau's collection is housed in Egliswil. The collections amounts to around 55,000 objects from antiquity to the present day. Since the millennium, one focus of the collection's activities has been to preserve important objects from the history of industry in the canton of Aargau.
